Shakira Cabrera, MPAS, PA-C
@lipsdontlieshakira

Shakira graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2006 with a dual Masters of Physician Assistant Studies and Bachelor’s in Health Care Science. She worked mostly inpatient Medicine in Cardiology, Neurology, and as a Hospitalist. In 2012, she was hired as a PA for the Trauma/Plastic Surgery department at Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston. As part of the Physician Assistant team there, she covered the Trauma bay, ICU, inpatient wards, Surgery clinic and scrubbed into surgeries as a First Assist. It was during her time in the operating room that her love for surgery and aesthetics began. Caring for the complicated trauma and reconstruction patients with a long road to recovery and helping them regain their life and confidence is what gave her joy.

In 2015, she left Brooke Army Medical Center and began her surgical first assist company. She worked with Plastic Surgeons in the community assisting them with cases in the operating room. Although she loved the operating room, she still longed for a way to have her own patients outside of surgery. In 2018, she dove into Aesthetics full force with the goal to grow her own practice and have those relationships again as she did with her reconstruction patients. She’s made it her priority over the past two years to train with the best worldwide to offer her San Antonio patients cutting-edge procedures and skills.
